The Sophomore Honors English Moodle will act as a supplement to our physical classroom. You will be able to find summaries of weekly lessons as well as links to handouts. Also, additional examples and links to helpful websites will be posted here. Lastly, Moodle will serve as the home to your weekly blog assignment. I hope you enjoy this, and I look forward to working together this year.
Junior English focuses on locating four universal themes: conformity vs. individuality; empowerment vs. oppression; faith vs. skepticism; and choices vs. outcomes in both fiction and non-fiction writing and reading. In order to achieve this, we will first focus on the themes in a variety of anchor texts. Then, we will look at rhetorical analysis to better understand the nuances of language.
Welcome to Sophomore Honors English at South Elgin High School. This site will become an integral part of your English education this year, as it will allow you unlimited opportunities to keep the conversation going with your peers and your teachers.

The "Teacher Advisory" Moodle is an online classroom that encourages teachers to communicate, collaborate, and consolidate resources. This classroom enables a group of teachers to post questions, chat, store files, create quizes and surveys of members believe will help them extend their mission to serve the students of U-46.
